Present Tense – 3rd Person Singular Verbs
🔹 What does it mean?

When we talk about he, she, it, or one person/thing, the verb usually changes.

This is called 3rd person singular.
🔹 The Rule
-
Most verbs → add -s
-
He plays soccer.
-
She likes ice cream.
-
It rains in spring.
-

Verbs ending in -ch, -sh, -ss, -x, -o → add -es
-
He watches TV.
-
She washes the dishes.
-
He misses his dog.
-
She fixes the bike.
-
It goes fast.

Verbs ending in consonant + y → change y → i and add -es

He carries the bag.

She studies English.

🔹 3. Verb TO HAVE

He / She / It → has
👉 Examples:

We have a dog.

🔹 4. Using “Both / All / Either / Neither”

Both … and … = two things are true ✅
-
Both Tom and Mary are my friends.

I have both an apple and a banana.

All of … = more than two things ✅
-
All of my friends are in the classroom.

I have all of the books.
-
Either … or … = only one is true ✅
-
Either the dog or the cat is in the yard.

You can have either cake or ice cream.

Neither … nor … = both are not true ❌

Neither Anna nor Ben is at school.

He has neither money nor food.
